„But if any of you want wisdom, let him ask of God who giveth to all men abundantly and upbraideth not. And it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea, which is moved and carried about by the wind. Therefore let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. “

James 1.5-7 (DRB)

How to become wise?

There are not too many people who think that they don’t need any more wisdom, than they have right now. Most of us would gladly receive some wisdom to better cope with our lives, to get the most out of it. In our life we constantly need the wisdom.

Making decisions without the wisdom may end up with unpleasant consequences. The wisdom is an ability to use knowledge in particular situation; it is an ability to make a right decisions.

So the wisdom is not the knowledge. The knowledge can be obtained in a school or course. People study for years to gain knowledge. But how you get the wisdom? In most cases the wisdom comes with your age. The more experience you have the wiser you are. You are gaining wisdom as time passes by. In most of the cultures people go for advice to elders, to people who have a lot of experience. But who is the wisest person in the universe? Who is the eldest elder? God himself – our father! Read above verses again. How you can gain wisdom without getting very old? Ask your God!

We have an access to the source of all the wisdom. If you ask God for the wisdom with faith, you have got it. The only condition God requires is a faith. God is a Father and he gives willingly; if only his child will ask. So don’t be afraid to ask him, if you will do so you will get help. You don’t have to rely on your own wisdom, you can rely on His!

Pray with me:

Dear God I admit I need your wisdom. I admit that without You and your wisdom I’m nothing. I admit that without your wisdom I will perish and I will never succeed. God you are my father and as your child I ask you please give me your wisdom in/for … . I believe you and I trust you. I know that you love me and I love you. Please God grant me your wisdom. Thank you Lord.

Good prayer. One I'll repeat often. T/Y.
I noticed that you didn't include some version of how I end my prayers, along with thanking God as you did: "in name of your most precious Son, my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, who died for my sins, I ask all this & more. Amen."

The Bible says we're to ask for all things, "in Jesus' name."
