“Delight in the Lord, and he will give thee the requests of thy heart.
Commit thy way to the Lord, and trust in him, and he will do it.”
Psalm 37.4-5
He will grant your request
Is this actually possible, that God will give us what we want?
The answer is not that simple as the question. The above scripture says that if you delight in him, he will give you, what your heart wants.
So what it means to delight in the Lord? Let us first say what delight in the Lord is not. It is not saying your daily prayers, going for Sunday mass or any other similar activities. Delight in the Lord goes far beyond, what religious people would usually do.
It is more like your thoughts are constantly focused on Him. It is, that your life is fully surrendered. You live for Him and in Him (you do not have to be a priest to do that). You reflect his glory in your life, and you put him first in everyday life.
What people do not realize is, that when you live that way, your desires will change! A lot of things you want now, you will not want any more. And you will long for things; you did not before. Your desires will more likely resemble God's character.
